The hotel impresses with its elegant lobby and comfortable rooms, though the decor feels a bit dated. The breakfast was delicious, and the service was generally friendly. The check-in and check-out processes were disorganized, causing significant delays, which was unfortunate.

The rooms are luxurious and nicely decorated, equipped with a mini bar, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, and an individual safe. The location is good, 1 mile from an urban square.

The hotel was perfect for our large family, especially with seven kids. We enjoyed a relaxing day at Cerro El Ávila National Park, where the views were fine and the fresh air revitalizing. The kindness of the staff.
My kids wished there were more activities for them.

All at a very good level, suitable for a Great Melia.
only thing they don't manage properly, apparently, are the offers. They compensate them by charging fees. Let me explain: The price of the reservation that I paid in advance for the 2 nights was 140 dollars, by means of a visa card. You and hotel already anticipated that when I arrived at the hotel I would have to pay the fees by 16%. That is, 16% of 140 = $22. 40. No, you insisted that the fees had to be paid in Venezuelan Bolivars (B. s. I explained my position that everything should have been in dollars, since they became intransigent I accepted. I accepted thinking that the official exchange rate for the Euro is approximately 78 B. s. Well, that's not it either. They applied a change of 286 B. s. /dollar (??? they told me is the one agreed between the hoteliers = 22. 40 USd x 286 = 6, 474 B. s. charged on my visa card. Ah! that's right.. now the bank has charged me on the visa card the official change, of course, that is: 88 B. s. /dollar (68 B. s. /dollar more than expected for only 2 nights accommodation). I don't even want to think about what would have happened if I had booked 15 nights! to top it all off, I asked them for a bill the day I was leaving the hotel and they refused it!

Room comfort and breakfast, happy hour buffet in a separate location compared to the base fare rooms
Location is very bad, I do not suggest to anyone to go out and walk in the suttoundings, is very dangerous. At the arrival I made a long queue for check in and there were 8 people of the staff, 3 working and 5 just looking other people work!!! After waiting the told me to go to 14th floor because there was a special reception for luxury rooms (pity they didn't tell me before queuing). I bought an internet connection for 2 days (quite expensive 40USD) but it worked very bad, very slow, practically impossible to work like that.... my surprise in the reception hall there is a wifi hot spot that works well and is free of charge!!! so if You think to work in your room, forget about it!! last bad point the check out: I knew I had a different and special location for my checkout but, unfortunately the system there was not working, so even if You paid for a priority... I had to go downstairs and make the normal queue... I will not go back to Grand Melia for sure, I will suggest Marriott Renaissance instead, better location, new Hotel and fast service.

The accommodation and the room was first class. everything worked.
When I arrived they did not have a room for me, although my reservation through Booked.net was weeks back. I had to wait nearly two hours until they finally came up with an upgrade into a suite room. When you are tired and weary you just want your room and not sitting in the lobby and waiting and waiting, not knowing if they will come up with something.

Good value for money compared to the other international hotels.
Reception staff extremely slow. Prepare for a queue when you check out.

Such great stay, as always. Incredibly beautiful and clean hotel, good views of the mountain and cable car. Nice breakfasts with fresh food. Luxurious and beautiful room, with a clean bathroom. The location was easy and marvellous, staff was impeccable. Found in a fairly nice area. Fantastic services! Late check-out.

Just a balanced option for a date night in Caracas with value for price. The company of cockroaches was a nice twist! Check your room carefully before settling in.

Just the room which is very cosy. But I have to say that the checkin/checkout service was too slow. Besides, there was a line in the lobby for that, which is not acceptable for a hotel as Melia.

Mixed Experience with Some Bright Spots
I appreciated the warm welcome and enjoyed the wine and cheese upon check-in. The room's amenities fell short, especially the inconsistent air conditioning. For future guests, make sure to confirm dining reservations well in advance, as the options can be limited.
